Aqua Marine Dive Center is a family-owned PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Center based at Frenchman's Bay, St. Thomas, with the dive boat operating out of Saga Haven Marina. Owners Tommy and Michelle Rayfield took over in 2022 and run the shop alongside a full team of PADI/SSI instructors and USCG-licensed captains.
From first-time Discover Scuba experiences and guided snorkel tours to full PADI Open Water, Advanced, Rescue and Instructor Development Courses, Aqua Marine handles it all on a single custom dive boat with room for mixed groups of divers, snorkelers and riders.

Tommy Rayfield
Owner · USCG 100-Ton Captain · PADI Staff Instructor
Tommy and his wife Michelle bought Aqua Marine in 2022 after falling in love with St. Thomas on vacation. He started diving in the '80s, revived it in 2018, and now runs the boat side of the business. A quiet, no-nonsense captain, he handles anything boat- or gear-related and recently returned to the water after beating cancer.
Michelle 'Mich' Rayfield
Owner · PADI & SSI Instructor
Michelle is the voice on the phone and the one keeping the shop running behind the scenes. She started diving at 50, hit 600+ dives in three years, and earned her instructor rating — now handling bookings, purchasing and shop operations while still teaching and diving.
Steph
Lead Instructor · Second Captain · Training Supervisor
Swiss-born Steph joined the team in 2022 and runs day-to-day operations when the owners aren't on site. Known as the team's 'octopus whisperer' for spotting critters other guides miss. She trained in Thailand and now leads dives, teaches courses and captains the boat.

Retired policeman who discovered Aqua Marine on vacation, stayed to get his Divemaster and instructor certifications, and never left. Guides, teaches, or captains the dive boat with a nonstop supply of jokes and one-liners.
