Then ferry to St. John (~20 min, $7.50) for Trunk Bay, sea turtles at Maho Bay, a private charter to Lime Out floating tacos, and the Reef Bay Trail hike. USVI Travel Essentials

    No passport needed

The USVI is a US territory. US citizens just need a government-issued photo ID. BVI trips DO require a passport + ~$75 customs fees.

    Flights

Fly into Cyril E. King Airport (STT) on St. Thomas. Direct flights from Atlanta, Miami, New York, Charlotte, Philadelphia & more.

    Getting to St. John

No airport on St. John. Take the Red Hook ferry (~20 min, $7.50) or Charlotte Amalie ferry (~45 min, $13). Runs hourly.

    Getting around

Shared safari taxis ($2–$12/ride) or rental cars ($60–$120/day). Drive on the LEFT side. 4WD recommended for St. John.

    Sunscreen

Reef-safe sunscreen is REQUIRED BY LAW. Buy before you arrive — it's $20+ at island shops. No aerosol sprays on most beaches.

    Peak season

December–April (dry, 80°F). Book charters 2–4 weeks ahead. Holiday weeks sell out by October. Summer = lower prices, fewer crowds.
